Noise reduction panel?

Om my 89 service manual, they mention a noise reduction panel between the water panel and the door panel. Was this effectively mounted? What was the material used, do someone has a sketch or picture where I can see the dimensions?
I do not want to stop the rattles this way, but as I am rebuilding my door panels I want to make a proper build, may diminish the road noise.

Re: Noise reduction panel?

Is this the rubber strip along the bottom? I have a '91, I only remember, the clear plastic that covered most of the door, a black rubber strip at the bottom, then the cardboard door panel.

That is the classic setup but in my book they show an additional layer, a bit smaller than the plastic one, supposed to be sticky to the plastic one.
