Door handle and window motor replacement????
Alright guys my tired old window motor quit on my 87 iroc. I already have a new replacement but it looks as if the factory is riveted in place. How do i remove it?? And the door handle was broken when i got the car and i would also like to replace it but it too appears to be riveted in place. any help is appreciated.
Re: Door handle and window motor replacement????
On the door handle and window motor you should be able to drill out the rivits, and either rivit them or bolt them back into place.
Hope this helps

Re: Door handle and window motor replacement????
Funny I was about to post I got my door handle from 1aauto and it was a good match :-)
When I did my door lock actuator and handle the rivets on the actuator were larger than I could do with a hand held rivet gun. I bolted mine in. It’s hard to get the nuts started. I wish they would sell replacements with nuts spot welded on the back side of the plate so it was easier to do. I thought about just taping the hole and doing that way, but it was thin enough I didn't trust it.
I don't remember if I riveted or bolted the door handle back on its been a few years.
I would imagine that the regulator uses the large rivets also.
