I have a 87 camaro that i want to replace the carpet - the problem is I am not sure what shade of grey it is. The console lid was replaced from a different year car and i have the build sheet from under the carpet but it only says grey

It's most likely med dark gray, if your buying aftermarket carpet go with ACC brand.

ACC tries to offer a pretty close match to the specific years and it looks like the color they are suggesting is 877 DOVE GRAY / 8292.

I got my ACC carpet off eBay through 1A auto, you can contact them for a carpet color sample so you can be sure that's the color you want.

Stock Interiors on eBay sells ACC carpet too, you have to ask for it. It's a little cheaper than 1A auto.

why is theresuch a hugh price difference.
AAC lists their carpet for over $300 shipped
1A has it listed for $168
I want the deluxe padding for sound and heat resistance
plus 1A only has it listed in flame red?

ACC is more of a supplier, and told me if they came down on the prices it wouldn't be fair to the re-sellers.

You can get any color you want, I actually went with graphite (which is a non-standard color) 1A changed all that for me at the time of the order.

As far as the extra stuff, check 1a's site and see if they have what you need.
