steering column help

steering column help

ok i am not sure if this is the correct area to ask this but.... where can i buy a replacement steering lock plate? mine is bent to hell and back... OR can i eliminate it completely?...... also where do i get a new lock ring for the lock plate? ive tried a snap ring but it dont hold and the local parts stores look at me stupid when i ask them for the lock ring

Cheapest/easiest place would be a junkyard. There are hundreds of thousands of them things across the country. Go find a GM vehicle around your year and pull that one.
