Just wondering if i could buy a 90-92 Camaro gauge from ebay and if it would be relatively easy to hook up in my 87 Camaro.

I like the look of them better and they at least go to 110 as opposed to 85...

The cluster is a different shape, then the 87.

You'll need to swap out the entire dash, I did this in my 84.
It takes a little time to do, but it can be done.

As cdoyle mentions, the shape is much different and would required either a dash swap or major modification.

If you're dissatisfied with the 85 mph speedo, why not simply swap in a mechanically driven speedo head, say a 140. The entire swap would scarcely take an hour. These clusters can be frequently found in the classifieds on this site.

As an FYI: 82-89 speedo heads are mechanic, 90+ electric.

I was just looking at the possibility of doing that and getting a reverse glow gauge face to make it look a bit nicer or go with some gauges from like Autometer or someone and make it custom.

What are some good, prefferably cheap, aftermarket gauge companies? Autometer seems to get pretty expensive pretty fast. And if i go with all mechanical gauges, will the swap be pretty painless (wire wise)?



Edit: And I havnt looked at it enough but could i just take out, lets say the speedo, use the original frame, but stick a new one in there (like does the old one slide out easily)? Or is a custom plate pretty much necessary?
