Locks
I guess this section can answer part of my question.
Went to check out a camaro, that i found out when i got there its a 2.8 and not a 305. And they lost the keys, so i got a lock cylinder today, and going back tommorrow to get it.
What i need to know in this section, is what tools will i need to get it installed?
I know i need a steering wheel puller, and socket to get the wheel off, And i read on here somewhere that the lock is held in by a torx head screw?
What size is that, and will it just pull out after that?
-Scott
Also, if anyone can help me too, i need the procedure to pull the door locks out, and how to replace them too

Re: Locks
Pull the steering wheel, compress the lock plate, pry out the keeper ring and remove the lock plate, cancel cam, and then you should be able to see the torx screw that holds the lock cylinder in place. If not remove the three phillips head screws and pull the turn signal switch assembly out of the way. The Torx screw should be a T15 or T20. With it removed the lock cylinder should slide out. It's not a bad job with the proper tools. It wouldn't be a bad idea to spend the $15 for a lock plate compressor.

Re: Locks
a seasoned tech with all of his tools can have it done in half an hour, at least thats how long it takes me on non vats cars, like he said, wheel puller on thhe steering wheel, compress the locking plate ( a collumn compressor IS required) remove the lock ring, remove the 3 screws for the turn signal cam and GENTILY pull it foreward and out of your way, remove the locking plate, then remove the "key in sensor" which is a plastic piece with 2 metal arms sticking off of it, then remove the the locking screw for the cylinder and slide the cylinder out, reinstallation is the exact reverse.
