I am having trouble with the pulldown assy... I have 12v at the reversing switch on the brown and blue, the orange and white will show open/continuity opposite each other when manually triggering the hatch switch (where decklid latches). The console trunk release and key behind the tag works fine.(no motor though)
I thought the relay was bad, but that helped nothing.. I have pulled the assy and manually run the motor as described in a previous thread... seems smooth and strong. all grounds are secure (car has not been molested) all factory connections are in tact. Is the reversing switch my problem???? I have reached in and flipped it manually and nothing happens.
The only other question is the white wire from the reversing switch to the relay has some kind of plastic housing around it with a pigtail and a short run of wire with a small terminal on it just hanging out in space(kinda like a override or something) it ohms completely different at the pigtail though.

 

that pigtail would be for an hatch compartment light(if equipped)

Thanks for that intel... in the meantime i noticed that most people with hatch problems were referring to top-down solutions. I gave Lon a call.... WOW, what a resource and wealth of knowledge. He gave me a step by step multimeter test to follow over the phone. Problem turned out to be dirty contacts inside the reversing switch assy.... a little electric parts cleaner, some compressed air and, wha-la... it works!
