91 hatch

91 hatch

ok my 91 rs hatch wont close all the way. i was wondering if it could be the motor or what? the hatch will act like it will close but it wont go all the way down and be level with the body. could i get rid of the motor and go to a regular hatch? plz any ideas of what to do will help

Just troubleshoot the pulldown and fix it. Do a search, there are many threads on the subject.

Same thing happened to me. Turned out to be a broken plastic gear in the pull down unit. Just ordered a new one from hawks. In the meantime, I was able to manually adjust the height of the latch by turning the gear by hand. Not sure if that makes sense but I think you'll see what I mean when you take the pull down unit out.

Top Down Solutions also sells a rebuild kit for the hatch motors.
