removing auto shifter to install new shifter boot

removing auto shifter to install new shifter boot

As the title says for the life of me i cannot figure out how to remove the auto shifter **** to replace my torn shifter boot on my 88 TA. Any help?

There is a metal clip that holds it in place on the front. Just use needle nose pliers to pull it out. Now the handle will come right off.


OK cleaned up my horrible blackberry typos.

It is easier if you move the shifter handle back all the way, look on the front side of the **** toward the lower part and you should see the retainer clip he is referring to.

Thanks for the imput guys, ill check it out this weekend. I cant find a gm repair manual here at the shop so i didnt know where else to look.
