I found a console that I want to buy at the junkyard today and was trying to take it out but couldnt find out how to remove the shift ****... If anybody could give me some assistance it would be great. And on another note do you guys think it is even possible to take a spoiler off the 2nd gen firebirds and put it on my 85'

 

I assume it's an auto shift ****? There's a clip in the front of it that comes out - look for a slot in the front of the shifter. You can grab the clip with needle nose pliers, and pull it straight out.
