What is the easiest way to get to the heater core?
My heater core started leaking coolant and i had to bypass it with a piece of copper pipe. I go to church with with a guy (my grade) who's uncle has a 1991 25th anniversary camaro and a couple of other thirdgens. (He knows the 25 anniversary was a 1992 only option... i think) He told his brother, who used to be a mechanic that i had to go diggin for it through the glove box in the dash. There is a problem with that, my car doesn't have a glove box in the dash and I've never seen a car with one. How do i get to the core? Thanks in advance for any help.

as for that screw at the top, for a while i didnt replace it because i didnt have a flex extension but now i do. if you dont replace that screw its no big deal.
also, when your going back together with everything, having a friend with a narrow screw driver in the eng bay to help bring the water lines over to the holes helps. not much effort needed when moving the lines, it just makes it a lil easier. dont go prying on them or you will break them. if ya goota pry your doing something wrong.
at the same time that your friend is helping you line up the lines, there is a arm that moves the door in the area your at with the heater core, the heater core frame will sorta get hung on this so just lightly pry the plastic to one side and it all should fall right in after that.
a friend had a 89 RS and even though his dad was a mecanic his dad wouldnt touch a 3g heater core. dad said bthe book calls for 6 hrs doing this. i told my friend to bring it by and i'll have it done within an hr.
right at the hr mark i stood up and said done, he said yup, bout an hr. i looked at my friend and said "now what do they do with the other 5 hrs?"
flexi extension, 7 mm and a flat head for the heater hose clamps is about al you will need.
