4th gen Drivers seat question???

I am swaping 4th gen leather seats into my 92 Z28. My 92 Z has a power driver seat. So does the 4th gen seat. Will the connection from the 4th gen work or no? I searched and couldn't find where both were power to begin with and if it will just bolt right up or no? I am scared to splice wires. Never done it before and don't want to if I don't have too.

no you will have to cut the wire and connector off your 92 seat and solder it on your new seat. its only 2 wires not hard.

i was lucky and took the seat AND connector from a 4th gen so i just cut the connector off my car and soldered the 4th gen on.

I have never done anything like this. I can take everything from the 4th gen..I have the whole car so what is the easiest way?

Re: 4th gen Drivers seat question???

just do what i did and cut the connector off the 4th gen floor, then cut the connector off your 3rd gen floor. then just solder the 4th gen connector onto your 3rd gen wires.
Its only 2 wires. Orange for power, Black for ground.

If you dont know how to solder then google it...its easy. if your afraid to solder then just use those crimp on connectors.

If you do solder then make sure to heat shrink them or tape them up with electrical tape. If using heat shrink then slide the tube on the wires BEFORE you solder them together then slide it over the soldered joint and use a lighter to make it shrink and cover the joint careful not to burn it though.
