Rear Pull Down Motor differences by year?

I've seen several threads on this problem but nobody with the exact same issue..

I had my rear trunk motor burn out, checked fuses etc. I ordered the same rear trunk motor with plastic housing that you find at topdownsolutions.

The new motor and housing bolt on correctly (as in it attaches to the pull down motor) but the black plastic contact (attached to the larger pull down mechanism) and the contact on the motor (on the clear plastic part) for the electrical attachment don't match up. It seems like it is obviously a difference in the physical design of the factory pull down assembly.

Basically the original motor and plastic housing is different from the replacement motors and housing that I am only able to find.

Has anybody else encountered this issue? I have a 90 firebird (built in August of 89), the entire assembly looks exactly like every other i've seen except for this small difference. Is my only option to replace the entire pull down assembly?

might try some of the pick and pull places that specialize in third gens. firebird city and thirdgen ranch for a couple. i like to check my local gm dealer first. some parts are available some arent. i prefer oem before i try aftermarket or used parts.
