I have the original steering wheel and spare gauges for fuel, tach/oil, temp and volts for my 84 z28. Should I keep them or sell? I don't think the ones on my car now will crap out but what if?

 

Unless you desperately need the cash, I'd keep them if they are in good shape. But then again, I'm a 3rd gen hoarder - I've got boxes and boxes of spares strowed all the the house, under the house, under the deck, in the screenroom, in the closet, the attic, under the bed .... get the idea? I wasn't kidding when I said hoarder!

 

But what do I need the steering wheel for I have a new one.....bt I just can't seem to get myself to throw it away because it might be worth something to someone else

 

Now that my car is in good shape, I go to alot of cruise-ins and shows. I usually come across someone that needs something I think I might have - so I get names/numbers and if I have it, I ship it too them. I get more satisfaction from passing along the parts to those in need than I get from the few bucks I might end up with after shipping and seeling fees. If I had anything that was very hard to get, very valuable, I might go for the cash - but most of my collection' is just bits and pieces that are extras - usually when I bought a lot of 5 items off ebay and only needed one of them. Now if I had a mint dashpad laying around, or a nose cone - you can bet it wouldn't be free! But it's nice to pass along what I can afford to - just me though.

 

if you have parts in good good shape, dont toss um. if you dont need them right now, pass them on to someone who does. im sure there is plenty of people on here that need a gauge, or a decent steering wheel.

 

I cant seem to get rid of anything ever lol I'm always buying extra parts too when I go to the yards

 

I recently unloaded most of my spare parts but I do have a few things left I'm hoarding just in case. Among them are the stock steering wheel and airbag for my car. I can't imagine ever using them, but you never know.
