Shifter Question

I have an automatic 700R4. My last time at the track, when i launched i was holding on to my shifter and the ball popped right of. I cant find the button on top but ive put the ball back on but it doesn't sit tight like before.

If i give it a little tug it pops right off. How do you secure it back down, or what can i get in the aftermarket area for it. Im not looking for anything fancy, just maybe a new ball or grip for the existing shifter.

Re: Shifter Question

There should have been a retaining ring holding the ball on. If it had been in place, you wouldn't have been able to pull the ball off. It may have just felt tight before because the button was in place.
I don't know of any aftermarket replacements. Maybe someone that has removed or replaced their stock shifter can supply you with a new button and snap ring.
