interchanging 4th gen seat frames from power to manual?

I'm looking at a set of 4th gen Firebird seats and they are cloth, but the driver's side is power. I really don't want to mess with wiring it up to work, so would it work if I found a driver's side manual seat frame and just swap the frames? Or is it more complicated?

Cant guarantee it but you most likely can use the manual tracks from your CURRENT seats. I had to do this on my passenger side anyway (the 4th gen tracks didnt work on that side). Just bolt the track up to the seat, all the holes lined up.

if you have both connectors, body and seat, just splice into the existing connector wires. It is 15 min and does not even amount to messing with wires. I put 4th gen seats in 3rd gen and it is very easy.

Even if there's no wiring in the car for power seats, it's a 10 minute job. Two wires from the power seat, one orange, one black - black is ground, extend it and attach to anything metal (I ran a self-tapping screw into the bracket for the seat belt). Then the orange wire, extend it, put a 20 amp inline fuse in the extension, and a regular spade connector on the end, and plug it into the empty slot on your fuse block marked "BATT" - tuck under the carpet along the driver door. This connection will allow the seat to operate without the key, that way you can put the seat back to the rear position after your short wife drives the car and leaves the seat all the way foward without having to squeeze your big butt in there and turn on the car first! (gee, wonder how I know about short wives and big butts ) I love the power seat! Can't ask for a more simple wire job. Try it out!

I agree with camaronewbie in that power seats are like the first microwave or air compressor...how did I live without this for so long?
