4th gen seat belts not working
4th gen seat belts not working
I just bought and installed 4th gen seat belts in my 88 camaro and neither one of the front ones is catching when I pull on them fast and hard. Are they bad? Am I missing something?

Re: 4th gen seat belts not working
They have an inertia-operated some kind of locking thing just like the third gens. Try pulling on them when you are braking and they should work then. Sorry about the low-tech terms, that's the best I've got

Henry is right, they have a pendulum hanging in the center, and when braking, it swings forward and actuates the locking mechanism.

Yep - nearly impossible to make them catch unless your braking at the same time.
