Headlite switch pushed in.
Yep, dont ask me how, but the damn thing pushed right into the dash. Lites stuck in the on position. I took the dashpad off and was able to turn the lites off, but would like to fix the thing. Is there an easy way to get access to the switch? From what I can see it looks like a real pain the butt. Any shortcut thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like the switch is broken. In order to pull the stem out you need access the underside of the switch. There is a release button you push in to allow the stem to pull out.One way to access the switch is to pull the **** off the stem(there is a tiny clip on the back that releases the ****), then the front cover can be removed, from there you can remove the blk nut that holds the whole switch inplace.Once removed just disconnect the harness.
Another way is by removing the gauge cluster to gain access from the side.To disconnect the harness or stem. You still need to replace the switch though.Sounds like it broke.Regardless, this method is a little more involved.

It's not hard, but kind of a PITA. There's a small plastic threaded nut that holds the switch in place that either came out or broke. I've got the same dash. You might be able to snake it out from underneath, but you have to take off the panel under the column(5 T-27 Torx bolts) and the gauge bezel. Two small bottom bolts and then it pulls out. Won't come off until you remove light **** or shaft as per instructions above. You should now be able to see the nut around the light **** shaft and know whether you can just screw it back in or need to replace. If it broke in the switch and that has to come out, you can try and get it out from underneath, but it will be easier just to remove the gauge cluster first and a switch swap is now easy. At least you get to sit in the seat for the whole deal. Have fun!
