i have a 87 z28 and my passenger door handle broke...ive had the handle for along time i just dont kno how to install it...i would appreciate if anyone could take me thru the steps

 

there are a lot of screws on the door handle trim. most of them are plastic. in order to get the trim off you need to remove the big angled handle that goes down to the arm rest. there are two torque screws under the ard rest and one at the top of the handle. remove all three. after the handles off and the trim is off, the dorr handle can be removed by drilling a single rivet in the front of the actual handle assembly. it then slides toward the rear of the car to be removed. installation is simply hooking the new handle assembly onto the door. you could either fasten it down with a new rivet, a hardware screw, or even a zip tie (which is what i used lol). hope this helps!

 

I just replaced mine, but the handle spring is a weak a$$ POS that doesn't pull the handle back into the recess properly! It was new, too. Oh well, it may be all the vacuum line I have on the rods to cut down the noise- I will have to check next time the panel is off... ANYWAY, I test fitted mine and bent the front part of the bracket to pull it tight against the panel AND I glued on some pieces of a bicycle inner tube between the two pieces of metal to dampen vibration. I am a FANATIC about the bloody rattles in these cars! One pop rivet is all that holds this thing on, which is amazing...and don't use a zip tie, good grief!
