my drivers side window takes a long time to go up and it can not shut the window all the way when the door is closed now (new weather seal) is this just a old tired motor? also how difficult is it to change the motor do you need to remove regulator too?

Yep - need new motor - do both sides and be done. Do a search for "bogus" and you'll see a tread about doing it the easy way without removing regulator.

Re: window motor tired?
easy way to do it is leave the rivets holding the regulator alone and just drill holes in the door since your gonna cover it with the panel anyway and drill out the rivets that hold the motor to the regulator if you remove the regulator it is a lot of extra work and oh yeah put something in place to hold the window in place like some c clamps on the tracks or something there is a thread with some pics if you cant figure it out but its pretty easy once you look at it to see the way of doing it

The motor may well be tired. However, in advance of replacement, I'd try cleaning and lubing the moving parts. You may be surprised. If the above fails to work, you've lost nothing and have removed parts required to replace the motor.

+1 on this idea. Made a very noticeable difference on my driver side window.....now if only I had some time to do the pass side.

yup, those are competitive prices with the free shipping. I just picked up one yesterday and Adv Auto matched price for me at $29.99. I paid sales tax so your price is right there.

But I get the "daily double". The regulator is broken and i bought a used one on line. I get to repalce the window, regulator and motor.........fun fun

Oh, if you want tips on doing the motor, just look up for a 4th gen. I think shobox has it on his site as well. i had to replace them in my 4th gen too.
