Craigslist find! 4th gen ebony leather trans am seats!
This only goes to show...there are still great finds out there despite what others feel. I just picked these up for a whole whopping, paycheck-breaking $20. Came with tracks and all in a separate box. Still can't believe it, I even talked the guy into letting me get the harness out of the car that was still in the garage, the one that goes from driver seat to passenger seat with air tube. Guy says it's out of a '95, but these look like the (97?) 98-02 LS style T/A seats, but the car deff had an LT1 in it, he said it was a new engine. It was his son's car, and the son got two brand new racing seats for the trans am, and didn't care for what happened with the originals. Passenger side as usual is mint, driver side has a little bolster damage that I will re-upholster and make like new. This goes right along with my $450 complete '83 Recaro Trans Am Daytona Pace Car I got this past summer off of craigslist. God bless craigslist
These seats will find their way into my buddys firebird that already has a set of black leather back seats already installed.

Am I wrong? Are these the LT style seats? They look so much better than the other style 4th gen seats I see, I like the articulating head rests better than the flat headed ones. Let me know, I'm curious now.

They look like LT seats. It is definately a buyers market lately on CL. I had to sell a set of tan leather, dual power 95 T/A seats for $150.oo (Fronts and rears) a few months ago. Nice find!

Is it just me, or do you guys like the look of the LT better than the LS? I figured since the 93-97 had that style headrest as the 98-02 LS T/A seats, i figured that this would have been the bigger better LS seats. Owell, I love em.
How do you guys take apart these seats? Anyone know? I see the screws underneath the headrests, and the push pins on the sides...are they push pins and what else is there to do? I just don't want to pry and there be a push clip in the middle of the back and I crack the whole thing in half. I want to fix the hole thats in there...just haven't figure out if I'm replacing the whole panel or just a patch panel...depends on if I find a decent replacement with a good/similar grain. I've looked at a few threads, but finding 3rd gen stuff...again don't want a 4th gen difference ruining these seats.
As far as the tan goes...it's weird, it's like it's a niche market. Everyone loves the gray and ebony, but tan is always cheaper/harder to get at times from what i've seen compared to the other two.

Besides the headrest from 97- & 98+ there is also the knee support on the front portion of the seat cushions. The earlier style are adjustable, but not the later.Although the non articulating seats on 93-97 also featured the same flat headrest & non adjust knee support.
Removing the two screws under the headrest allows the front part of it to seperate. This is done by pulling the two halves apart.Only the upholstered part will come off the headrest.
If your refering the the buttons on the sides as "pushpins".They are not, those are caps that cover a phillips screw.Pull them off & you'll see. Those along with the two on top of the seatback plastic, as well as 2-3 on the bottom of the seatback. Are required to remove said seatback.
There is an inner piece(w/ the cargo net) that is seperate from the seatback part.Four phillips( 2top/2bttm).Plus the two phiilps on each side for the accordian piece.Need removal for the cargo net plastic to come off.
From this point, access to the two clips that keep the headrest bars from sliding off can be reached. They are mounted on the two plastic guides you see on the top of the seatback. You'll have to remove the hog rings on the upholstery to better access the retainer clips.
Removal of the seat cushion requires separating seatback frame from the seat cushion frame.Plus more philips screws, hog rings & air hoses that run up from under the seat & into the seatback area.

Re: Craigslist find! 4th gen ebony leather trans am seats!
You are right about a nitch market! I sold a 2001 T/A ebony set for $200. a few weeks before that. I am in the process of selling a set of black (TRUE black.) 07 Z-06 seats for $400.oo right now. I used to sell them for $400.oo+ for the 4thgen and $800.oo+ for vette. Just a sign of our bad economy. Used to get a sale within hours of posting them, now its a few weeks of price reductions before I sell them.

Damn whatta process. Thank you for laying that out for me, now I'm glad I didn't pry on those capped side areas, would have ruined them for sure lol.
And I hear ya, but it's true, ebony and black leather sell the best, followed closely by gray, and far behind is tans, it's just not as popular as it used to be.
