removing/intalling windows

Hey sorry guys i tried the search engine in the body and interior sections and i keep getting power window threads and window adjustment threads

and nothing directly towards removing or installing windows in the tech articles.

i'm trying to find a step by step process after everything is out of the way to remove the windows and install

i already have my door apart. where does the window need to be for easiest way to remove?

half way or all the way up to slide it on and off the tracks?

Re: removing/intalling windows

I just did it

you need a 2-3 foot pry bar and a helper for the removal (seriously)

put window halfway of your motor actually works

my regulator was toast as was the motor so I drilled out both so removal was much easier. I had 2 new windows I bought a while ago so it was as good of time as any to replace the glass.

You're going to have to unbolt the channels that the regulator rolls in and remove the guide that the window roller rolls on

the rollers for the regulator get removed to the left (rear of car direction) because there is a stopo if you try to push them toward the front

Once you get the tracks disconnected you need to work the wiondo up and the pry bar is for prying the door panel outward for that final "pop"

yup, pry out the exterior skin a wee bit and pop out the window. the skin goes right back into place

it sounds scarey but it's not.

do you need the regulator or just the motor?

which side?

I have an extra drivers side regulator here. You can find them on Ebay for $30 plus shipping. $15 plus shipping and this one is yours.
