Horn going off with change on steering wheel

I have 1991 Firebird which have a non- air bag steering wheel working fine. I have remove it so i can place the original. Now when i connected the original steering wheel, and place the air bag the horn goes off....non-stop. I ma thinking that the problem has to be in the steering whell since the horn was working fine with the other steering.
Any suggestion what or where may be the problem at?

Thanks in advanced.

The horn wire only needs to be grounded to turn on the horn. Somewhere the wire is touching when you put on your new wheel. Most have a plastic sleeve to keep this from touching

Re: Horn going off with change on steering wheel

Thanks for the info. The plastic sleeve you refer to is around the horn wire? It seems that the horn goes off when the base (metal) of the steering wheel touches the shaft.
