Dash Pad Interchangability??

Engine: V8 305 TPI
Transmission: 700R4
Dash Pad Interchangability??
I own a 1986 Iroc. I bought a new dash pad thinking that Camaro/Firebird Dash's are interchangable, i beleive now that they arnt becuase this one simply does not fit.
I believe it is a Firebird Dash pad because the speaker covers are different then what my IROC's orignal Dash pad had, they are like a plastic grate, the camaros were like built in the dash material, idk how to explain.
The screw holes do not line up, the dash isnt flush with the windshield.
Any ideas on this one??
