I would imagine it would be a straight swap...assuming you don't care if the airbag works or not. I swapped an 85-87 T/A steering wheel in my 91 T/A with no problems, just had to cut the wires for the airbag to get the older wheel to fit.

after looking at my 88 steering wheel, and the 92 i noticed the groves in the hole where it goes on spindle were different, the steering wheel with the air bag has 2 thicker groves one on top and one on bottom, seams like they made it that way so steering wheel can only be put on 1 way, but anyways i just shaved down the grove on my spindle and it fit right on, i searched everywhere on this site and couldnt find much on this, everyone said it was a direct fit, only found a couple threads about swapping the 91-92 wheel on an older camaro, and no one ever mention this, makes me think im the only one who had this problem, did anyone else ever do this mod? did you do something else to make it fit?

putting an older steering wheel on a 90-92 is a direct fit, the non air bag steering wheels have all the same size groves in hole where it mounts to spindle, its the newer spindles on the 90-92 camaros that have a grove missing on each side of spindle so steering wheel goes on straight, older steering wheel will fit on fine, hard to explain, i got it to fit so im happy, but ill try to take a pic tomorrow to show what im talking about, im sure someones tried this and knows what im talking about,

I'll second that, my old co-worker had an 89 Z24 Cavalier, and the steering wheel in that car (nice thin 3 spoke design, red bowtie horn button) looks 1,000% better than the one they put in the non-IROC Camaro that year. They also used a very similar variation of that steering wheel in early 90s Luminas, but with an airbag of course. Strange though since it doesn't look ugly enough or big enough to be an airbag steering wheel. Seems like the F-Bodies really got the shaft in this case.
