Carpet help?

Hey guys i'm kinda new to this sight so whats up!
I have a 1987 Camaro with a 305 tpi, red. But i have one problem, the carpet on the inside is not my first choice of color... I want it to be black.
My question for yall is should i just paint the carpet I have now? Or buy a completely new carpet? And how much would that cost me?

Re: Carpet help?

Its up to you.. I've never dyed carpet so I don't know how difficult that is or how clean it has to be to work properly.

A new carpet for the entire car is going to be in the 350-400 range depending who you buy it from if you go with new carpet. You may be able to get a used black carpet on here much cheaper if you post something in the wanted section, or try contacting one of the site sponsors that sells used car parts. Or a local junkyard. The stock carpet is pretty bulky and heavy so it might be expensive to ship.

Re: Carpet help?

anyone know a good place to get the carpet? I only need the pass compartment for a 91 convertible. I don not want a cheap knock off that I have to trim to make fit correctly, EBAY is loaded with these, but I do not want junk, thanks
