Re: Upholstery Work

TheCoverGirl re-did all the seats and door panels for my Camaro recently, I have them back and they look great. I have pretty much given up on the weather and think I will be waiting till later this fall to finish installing them (I just can't get excited about working on cars when it is 100 degree out!). I plan on starting a thread with pictures when I finally get around to installing these, untill then; The CoverGirl gets a big thumbs-up from me.

If you want to see any pictures of my work, just pm me your email address and let me know what you would like to see and I can send you some. Thanks

Re: Upholstery Work

Do you think you could do the covers without having the seats ? i would send the original seat covers and you would use them as a template to make new ones. I've already unsewn one cover though since I was planning to do them myself, but I don't have the time, they're identical on both sides anyway.

I'm interested. I'm around Jacksonville (Macclenny to be precise) in North Florida. Where are you located and could I get a price on redoing my upholstery for my 1989 convertible camaro? I would need a few tweaks in the seats but nothing major. Let me know please at linkslade2000@yahoo.com. Also, do you have any pics of work?

Hi, I need to see a picture of it. If your only wanting to do one seat, the chances of matching your existing color would be slim and the chances of matching the factory fabric would also be slim. You would be better off doing the whole set. Send me a picture and then I will be able to tell you something.
Thanks

You remove the old upholstery and put the new upholstery on. They will look just like brand new seats after you install the new upholstery. Just like they did when your car came from the factory.
Some people get those two words "seat covers" confused with new seat upholstery. Seat covers are those things you buy at Walmart to protect your existing upholstery that is already on your seats. I will send you an email.

Re: Upholstery Work

Here's a before/after of sorts. I used about 150 hog rings and hog pliers I bought on Amazon.com. its a chore... but great results always take a little effort. Basically, if you can use pliers and think things through with a bit of detail, you can cover your seats. Covergirl will help. She certainly helped me.

Re: Upholstery Work

Makes sense about not being able to match it well..

since it's a basic '89 ws6 formula maybe you could lemme know what it would run for just both fronts as well as front and back...it has the basic grey or kinda silver colorthat so many of those cars had...

the pass front seat is real nice but the dirvers is kinds rough and there's a little splitting along the top of the back seat...

if I could remember I'd try and get a pic or two if you needed it to work with...

thanks

Re: Upholstery Work

Covergirl, I have an '89 GTA with the medium beechwood (i believe it's called) leather interior. it's cracked pretty bad in need of replacement (rears are almost perfect, it's a shame but it is what it is i guess?). can you email me prices for the full leather replacements, as well as prices for the vinyl equivalent? how long a wait? My email is gms95@comcast.net Do you have pics of the replacements for this color and seat style?

thanks in advance.. I am looking to do this very soon (like this week).
