hatch release?

hatch release?
I just bought an 87 Firebird that does not have the key for the locks. So does anyone know how to release the hatch without the key? Everything in the car is manual, no power windows, doors or anything.

Locksmith or GM dealer,If you go to a dealer he can look up you vin no.and get the key nos.that's a start.

If you have a rear cargo area light simply pry out the lens and give a yank on the release cable.From the inside its located on the left hand side of the hatch motor

man whats with all these stuck hatch threads lately?...but yea for you since theres no switch, its either have somone pick it (locksmith), get a key made (and hope the lock has never been changed) or access the release cable from the inside.
