Hi, i have a 1990 trans am gta and my steering column is really messed up from it being too loose from the screws in the back to having pieces in the plastic coming off. Also, there a few pieces missing that i need to use my brights on the side part. I dont really care to fix it.... unless its way too expensive to buy a new one. does anybody know of where to buy a steering column for cheap?

 

It's very common on these cars to have a loose steering wheel.and it's a real pain to fix them,it's easier to put a new column in.You can get one on here,look in the interior parts for sale,or put one in the interior parts wanted,good luck.

 

Any of the 3rd gen columns will swap in, but to retain air bag & VATs wiring/functions, you'll need the late model ones.

 

You can usually get them for abut 35-45 bucks at the junkyard.that's what mine cost along with the stearing wheel.

 

there is a guy in upstate NY that rebuilds them. I removed mine, and shipped it to him, and got it back 4 days later. PERFECT !!
