Heating and A/C issues.
Ok so the car I am gonna buy 1989 camaro rs has no blower motor,no Heating controls in the counsel (The slider where you choose ac / heat). It doesn't have the heater core either. What am I looking at in cost and man hours If I were to do it myself?

if you can find used parts for the dash and mechanisms, new blower/heater core you're looking around $150-$250 according to where you buy everything.... If you are starting w/ a clean slate and done have to do to much BFH persuading, I'd say around 3-6 hours... Again, all according to how you work and if anything is a PITA

Re: Heating and A/C issues.
A little off topic but I think its pretty cool that all this new generations are putting an interest in camaros and firebirds I introduced my cousin (18 now) 2 years ago to camaros he got his first an 89 rs which is brother totalled and since he liked them so much went out and got an 86 irocz and drives it everywhere he also learned as he went between fixin my car and his he's now semi-pro at fixin camaros he still calls me once in a while with questions but does everything by himself now. Now back to topic the blower is no problem five minutes and its on its just like 7 or 8 screws that hold it in place the controls should b somewhat easy as well just the hot cold selector cable might give u problems as its hard to remove from the heating controls also b careful with the bacuum hoses and make sure they ain't broken or no wires or cables are cut or missing as for the heather core that will b ur challenge as u have to remove the dash to get to it get the book at autozone it'll help u a lot or do a search on how to on the web before u attempt it but u can doit don't lose fait in urself and if u get stuck as for help and we'll help u good luck

Re: Heating and A/C issues.
Dont skip out and get a new heater core as I see too many guys put used ones in to find out they leak a month later and have to do it all over again. If you are gonna run a AC delete box try to get all the wiring and ducting as its so much easier to run. there are no vaccume lines and crap you need to hook up at every vent. They are cable driven and so much easier to run. You will need all the ducting if you got this route
