No Im not stuck in the car. Seriousy though i need the third gen gurus to help me. I replaced my window motor and door lock actuator a week ago, what fun that was. Driver door has been fine and working great. this morning i go out to get in my car to come to work and it wont open. Yes i unlocked it for anyone who will ask. I even tried going from the passenger side and trying to open it with the inside handle with no luck. when i replaced the actuator and the motor i sprayed white lithium grease on all the mechanisms and made sure they worked freely. can anyone tell me how to open the door without destroying it or the door panel so i can fix this gremlin. thanks for any help you guys can provide.

 

Sounds like one of the rods has fallen out of place:

A 'slim jim' might do the trick.

Yea I seen that rod with the plastic clip that wen to the handle. seemed ok didn't touch it cause I didn't want to break it. But I guess it didn't like beign greased. I'll try to slim Jim it. Any other ideas if that doesn't work? And thanks for the diagram James.

 

Well apparently i have some sort of latch issue. Was able to use a clothes hanger to pop the door open (thanks James for suggesting a slim jim). Looks as if the latch internals are a little loose. Due to my work schedule limiting my time and rain this weekend won't be able to tear it down and investigate what the problem is. As soon as I do I will update and post my findings and solution. Hopefully it will help somone if they have this problem in the future.

 

The quest is still on going. I figured out the latch was a little loose. So I put a vacuum cap on the end of the rod where it goes into the latch hoping it would take the slop out. Worked for a couple of days and boom it wouldn't open again. I was hoping to get by a little longer with my band aid repair but oh well. Called around there aren't any new ones out there. I've got a spare door with a latch so I'll be swappin it out.
