Help me play "What is this wire" in my trunk

Long time reader, just a thanks to the vast amount of info you guys have here. With that said, I really hate starting a new post, but I'm having a hard time finding anything that nails my problem and I haven't been able to figure this out by looking at the wiring diagrams.

One of the previous owners of the 88 2.8l I have tore out all the wires from the rear trunk area of the car except the tail light bundles. I'm trying to figure out the latch mechanism, and have only gotten half of it. It wasn't connected to anything at all, and the release switch in the console was unplugged. Found the hot wire glued under some dynamat, ran new wire to the release unit and that all works fine now. However, I'm lost figuring out how the pulldown part of it should be set up. I have 3 wires coming out the top that are just cut, you can see them here.

and here.

I have half the harness for the light and switch....which is only left with a white and an orange wire. Also, in that last pic, you can see a black cable that comes out of the unlocking unit. What does that hook up to? The yellow wire you see coming from the ground below the unit was the ground for the amp. WTF guy...anyhow, it's long been disconnected.

Finally, one more pic. The wiring for the rear defrost is missing. I have no idea where to start, will just have to go from the back of the defroster switch and find the wires, but they may be related to these. I have a white and an orange wire coming out from the same bundle as the taillights. Are these two for the trunk lighting?

Maybe if someone has a couple shots of how all this is SUPPOSED to look, I can figure it out from there. I know the circuits are easy, just unsure what this crackpot has taken out, or where things were disconnected.

Also, if there's anyone in the Boulder County area in Colorado that has parts, or knows of a good supplier, let me know.

That white one is for the hatch courtesy light, that white one if i'm correct should have a small black female plug, that is for wipers which we don't have and just hangs their, the black one looks like it was used for some kind of ground, that's not needed for anything,The wire for your defogger should be on the sides of the cargo section and plug into the hatch supports on both sides, they would be black with plugs on the ends.
