Weak seat recliner

My driver side seat recliner seems to be very weak. If you retract the the seat back and then pull the lever, it barely has enough strength in it to reposition itself to its normal shape. Anyone know a fix on how to make it stronger?

Re: Weak seat recliner

I'll second this question...although my problem is the recline on the drivers seat. Seems when I pull the lever the seat back does not come up all the way and lock as it should. It comes up, but it a position that is way too far back for me to sit in comfortably and drive.....let alone crush the legs of any passengers sitting in my back seat. Almost like the mechanism is not able to lock it in a higher position. I took off the covers to look at the actual mechanism, but couldn't determine what was causing the problem.

That's actually the exact problem I'm having, I just didn't explain it too well. Do your seats have the locking tab stuck on them?
