Manual door locks won't unlock from outside
I did a bunch of searches, and came up with results from people who have failing power door lock solenoids. My problem is that the key spins nearly freely, in both the passenger side, and driver side door. Crawling in through the hatch is getting embarrassing. I am wondering if anyone knows the ins and outs of this mechanism, before I pull the door panel off. Is it possible a rod fell out of place? Will I need new parts?
On the driver side, I feel it starting to engage for a second, then it just spins freely. It is always free turning on the passenger side.
Here is my car... It's an 83 Sport Coupe, with a 350 .30 over, rebuilt T5 with hardened straight cut gears... Aluminum drive shaft to a TrueTrac equipped 10 bolt in the rear with 3.73 gearing. The suspension was fully rebuilt, and improved with UMI Sfc's, UMI wonder bar, Eibach Sportlines, SSBC brakes, All rubbers replaced with poly... To much to list. I love this car...
However I get strange looks in Boston (like I'm stealing the car) when I climb in the hatch over my sub box!
Thanks TGO!
