help with carpet!!

I know some of you have installed new carpet. How did you get the best results? Should I glue it down or heat it up or leave it alone? I have lumps in the carpet that lay down easily when pushed but wont stay?/ Suggestions would be appreciated. :-)

Re: help with carpet!!

What I have heard is one needs to lay the carpet out in the sun[black top the best] for a few hours before install.

Re: help with carpet!!

Don't glue anything down. Let the carpet lay down on the floor pans all by itself. Getting out wrinkles can be tricky and a time consuming thing to do. I used an iron on low heat to help get the carpets to lay down. I also kept rubbing and massaging it in the areas that needed the most help like around the rear hump. Most of the carpet is under the seats any way so concentrate on the wrinkles in places where they are most visible.
