steering column help

steering column help

as some may know my camaro got stolen last week it is an 89 rs with 2.8 i was told by a guy that the column might be able to be rebuilt but he wants 200 bucks to do it. my question is will only an 89 steering column work or can i use a column out of + or - years

I think it all depends if you have cruise control and VATS. I need a steering column myself only because I had to take two columns and make one that actually works since mine snapped in half about 12 years ago.

I know you can go back from 89 to 82. I put an 82 column in my 89 IROC.
