kilduff shifter in an iroc z?

hi! i have been looking at the possibility of putting in a cool looking ratchet shifter in my 86 iroc. The best looking and most customizable ones i could find are made by www.kilduffmachine.com But im just not sure how well it going to fit into the console area,,he told me the standard shifter body is the one to go with, because it has the most cut outs. the body is about 5 inches wide,,wich is perfect..but it's also 13 inches long.so that means the ash tray would have to go,and it also runs into the power window switches panel,,by about 1 inch.So im not so sure this guy even looked into how well it would fit, like i asked him to. Has anyone here ever had one of these put into thier iroc? if so,,how does it look, and did you have to cut anything out,,because i dont think i want to do that. OR does anyone have any recommendations for a shifter? im just not crazy about the stock one i have. Its the ball type push button for an automatic 700 r4 with overdrive. Any ideas? thanks in advance

Check out the shifter that he built for my 1986 Corvette. Your not crazy, the console space is about the same for the Vette and the iroc Z, I used the B&M megashifter for the Camaro in th Vette. I sent him a old console assembly, the shifter and the shifter assembly.
