Whats the difference in the shift plate from the 85-89 and the 90-92?

85 to 90 were the same,91 to 92 were the same,82 to 84 were the same.the 91 to 92 I think the gear indicator moved with the shifter, whereas the 85 to 90 didn't.

oh, you mean the orange bar that highlights what gear its in? can that be added or swapped over?

Not sure on the conversion!!!sounds like a lot of modification, I would just replace the whole plate.

i got a 1991 that im looking to replace and can get a really good deal on a good condition 85-90 if all im losing is gear indicator im fine with that. just want to make sure thats the only difference

Not sure,maybe someone will chime in on this subject,I'm only familiar with the 85-90 plates
