White Lithium Grease on Plastic??

So I finished installing my heater core two days ago, and before I put the dash back together, I sprayed some white lithium grease on the assembly that pivots to move the heater door open and closed..

Should I have not done that? Or is it going to cause any problems with the plastic? I know the moving parts themselves aren't plastic but the area around it is..

It's not hard to access to clean it off if need be, I just really need to know if the grease is going to cause any problems down the road..

Any suggestions on a different type of lube for it?

Thanks
