Katzkin leather seat fitting well?

So after replacing the hardware on both seats and them starting to fall apart I think its time to replace them entirely. I remember looking at Katzkin when I first got the car. Anyways, they only do as early as '88 Camaros. Are they the same size etc? Or has anyone bought from them and have pros cons?

thats good to know. It took me a minute to see the price on them and it hurt just to look. but anyone who has used them has said it's worth it. but $2000+ is a lot of change for some seats haha

Check out lethalinteriors@mediacombb.net , the woman who does a lot of F body interiors.

She's mentioned on this board a bit and comes recommended.

She quoted me a price less than half that in leather. I'm just waiting for my car to come back from the paint shop until I get an interior from her.

I had Katzkin leather installed in my Pathfinder when I bought it new, 7 years ago. It still looks good. The leather is heavy and the finish is durable, unlike some of the leather that came on these cars when new.

I just ordered a kit from "Covergirl" for my 92, and I cannot wait to get them!

I looked into a Katskin kit years ago when I redid the interior on the 91, and at the time they had no installed pics... just prices! I ended up using Mr.Mikes.com for my leather and door panel and it was still spendy, but much less than Katskin... enough I could door my door panels and ordered new subs. I think that Katskin now has such a name that your paying for some of that name in the price. They do offer some neat double stitching options and suedes that you might not has the option to do with other kits.

I would honestly call Princess at Lethal and see what type of stuff she may be able to do for you. You got nothing to lose by calling her.

Now I thought Mr.Mikes just did new covers. I really loved the work they do but I need a whole new seat. right now my driver side is angled back about two notches from the normal upright, something happened to the teeth I think because it wont even hook into the high notches, but the inertia lock still works fine. If I could get my hands on a welder I'd repair the teeth. This is the second reclining mechanism to fail on me with these seats so I think it's time to start replacing the whole seat.

Mr. Mikes did my interior. I had to wait about two months, but it was well worth it.

Re: Katzkin leather seat fitting well?

Last year I was looking on Ebay and saw a complete REAL genuine Italian leather seats covers for 999.99$ shipped! And now, I can't find it anymore...The same seller sells the Vinyl one's that seems to match our factory leather appearance for 800$ + 50$ shipping, his Ebay user ID is Rubik. But I would rather pay the extra 200$ for real leather.
Is anyone had experience with this Ebay seller or recall of the leather kit I am talking about??

I would give Covergirl a call before even trying an ebay seat cover set. Save you hundreds off the cheap stuff...

I think we'd like to see a pic Skyjack. I've heard great things from Katzkin but i've never seen them installed in a 3rd gen.

When I first heard of them I saw that virtual seat creator and was in love. It was a lot more in depth before and much cheaper. I just made a set to see how it looked and they are around $2000 for just the fronts, and have to be installed by a certified tech.

Re: Katzkin leather seat fitting well?

I can have a shop recover seats in real nice leather for cheaper than katzkin. thats meterials, padding repair, installed out the door

Lots of shops are not that bad on recovering seats
