91 f body seats

I have a question to ask you guys.I have been looking at a brand new set of leather seat covers that were design to look like the factory oem tan leater seats that came in the 1991 pontiac trans am.they are listed for 389.00 for the leather seat covers and45 dollars for shipping. They come with the tools needed to put the covers on.they are auctual leather seats front and back they are made to fit and look like they came from the factory.

How hard would it be to take apart the seats and pull them out the car,is there any one that can answer my question.

Re: 91 f body seats

Taking the seats out from the car is easy...4 bolts a piece on the fronts, rear seats have one bolt per side on the lower cushions, then I want to say there's one bolt per side on the rear seat back. I would think even an amateur could have all of them out in an hour.

Now, removing the seat covers and replacing them is a total pain and is best left to the professionals if you want decent results.

The upholstery is attached to the seats with hog rings,I did my own a while back and it's not that hard but it ain't easy either,it's really hard on the hands. If your not in a hurry do a seat a night.Try doing the backs 1st(get some experience before going to the fronts)take your time removing the originals and see how their attached and reverse on installation.Do yourself a favor and get a good pair of hog ring pliers,(longer)the ones they give you are a joke.(to short) Good Luck!!!

If you have GTA seats, let a pro install them unless you're capable of sewing the plastic accordion dealios to the leather.
