i use a 2000 6spd console and removed the ashtray to install my power window switches to keep them out of sight. i am thinking of switching to an auto console. i know the ashtray is smaller, but i dont recall seeing any with switches in the ashtray.

is it too small to make this possible with the factory 3rd gen switches?
