O.K. , 92 what ? Camaro or firebird ? what brand gt steering wheel ? a little more info. is needed . BTW did you notice the "SEARCH" function block at top of the page ? this has been covered "MANY" times . I used it when I put a GRANT [brand] Challenger [model] on my 91 r/s Camaro . make sure you have ALL the required parts "before" you start . good luck .

Re: how do i switch to a non-airbag steering wheel?
I did it years ago, on my '91 RS. I had an '85 T/A that I was parting out. I went to Autozone and rented a steering wheel puller. The airbag is held to the steering wheel by 4 screws on the back side of the steering wheel. Before removing it, there is a yellow connector at the base of the steering column. That is for the airbag, pull it, then remove the airbag. Once the airbag is out, use the puller to remove the old wheel, reverse the process for the "new" steering wheel. You can still use the clock spring from the airbag wheel to operate your horn, or you can transfer over the contact circle. Obviously this only really works on a stock wheel swap, not for stock for say a Grant wheel. The airbag warning light will light up now, there are several ways around this. One is to find the correct resistance of the airbag (don't put a multi-meter on the airbag, use a potentiometer on the airbag circuit until the light goes out. Measure that with a multi-meter, and go to radio shack to find the correct resistor and solder it in place. Or you can just pull the bulb in the dash.

thanks khulsebus. sounds easy enough. its a 92 firebird. not sure the model of the steering wheel i got it used, it has 4 bars with holes in them, very common.
