I didn't do a chevy I tried to dye on a mustang, and what a nightmare the dye didn't hold and I let it sit for a few days wet, then went with the dulpi-color spray and it smelled like I was riding around in a paint can. lets my experience anyway.

i also used duplicolor.it looked good but feels stiff and unnatural.

If using a spray, wait no more than a minute and then take a stiff nylon brush (like found in the dollar stores) and vigorously rub in different, or a circular, direction. This will prevent the dye from clumping/matting and will give a more natural appearance once dry.
