Paint removal

What's the best way to remove spray paint from my interior pieces. Prior owner sprayed some parts silver.

Re: Paint removal

Really? Not even a "use sandpaper "? I want to remove the paint without hurting the plastic. Any product recommendations?

Depends what they used on it. You can try really hot water, if the paint didn't bond well that will take it off. If it did bond well, I think the only solution is sanding or painting over.
Many of the plastics are easy to find used, might be easier to just replace them.

Re: Paint removal

wipe with nail polish remover?
soak in gasoline?
paint thinner?
"use sandpaper?"

not sure what kind of ill effect it will have on the plastic but it will take the paint off

and stealtht/a is right, depending on the pieces you can get them cheap in good condition

This may sound strange but, soak them in Brake Fluid; it will cause the paint to peel off without hurting the plastic. Depending on how well the paint has adhered to the plastic they may have to soak for some time, but the paint will come off.

Re: Paint removal

Brake fluid was my idea too. I was looking for a second opinion on that. Wasn't sure if it would hurt plastic during soaking. Thanks.
