Seat Dye

I picked up a pretty nice set of 4th gen seats out of a 02 SS Camaro. I think GM calls the color "ebony", which you would think is black. Once I got them home and dropped on in place they are most certainly not black. More like a very dark gray. My original interior is beechwood with leather and I figured black would compliment that nicely, but "ebony" looks waaay out of place.

I came across this wipe on product but can't find much in the way of reviews. Has anybody tried it? From the videos it looks a lot more forgiving than spray on products. And easier to apply.

Re: Seat Dye

I had gray seats that I changed to black. The photos show the product, the before and the after. There is a lot of prep involved to ensure a quality job. My best info came from UK websites specializing in the seat restoration of Bentleys, Rolls Royce etc.

Re: Seat Dye

Looks to be a similar sponge applied product. I ordered some of the rubnrestore product. I'll give an update with the results once it shows up in my mail box.

The dye is fantastic and easy to use. The seats turned out real nice.
