GTA seat breakdown
I have a GTA drivers seat with a bad structure, but decent padding. I picked up a junkyard GTA seat with a good structure but bad pads. I am wondering if there is a write up somewhere that shows how to break down these seats so I can make 1 good seat? The factory service manual just has an exploded view of the seat, but no instructions on how to break it down. Also, is there a company that makes factory style CLOTH beechwood seat covers?

Re: GTA seat breakdown
Memory's a little vague, so i may not cover everything ,but here goes.
There are 3 air lines that run down the center of the seatback & into the lower seat.Disconnect them from the metalbox & take note which line goes to what fitting.
The side trim has three screws along the bottom & one at the rear holding it inplace.Remove those then lift up to seperate from its brace.Disconnect the harness from the switch.Dont think the switch needs removing. Also remove the metal braces.
From there the seatback can be seperated by removing the two bolts on the recline mechanism & one from the other side.
The seat cover has a zipper or a plastic retainer along the bottom. Undo the rubber boot from under the head rest comes & slip a metal ruler (or similar) into the flat upright bar. There are two screws in the rubber boot holding it & the plastic seatback on, plus three along the bottom. Also four screws holding the plastic piece w/ the cargo net & two per side for the accordian sides. After the headrest is off, the seat cover needs the hog rings undone from the foam.Plus the hog rings on the foam/frame.Finally remove the bladders.
Next, the lower seat cover should have similar plastic retainers snaped onto the seat frame, undo them & then the hog rings from the foam.Agian the hog rings on the foam/frame need removing.
Lastly, the various electrical devices screwed onto the frame to be swapped.I have also left the seat covers attached to the foam & removed the hog rings on the foam to frame instead.
