I'm new to F bodies ( I am a G body fan) and just added an 87 Formula to the driveway. One of the small issues that needed to be taken care of was the driver side cable mirror. When I bought the car the toggle to adjust it was not present. I asked the person I got the car from what the issue was, he said he wasn't sure. So as it was no big deal, I bought a mirror from a forum member. He sent it and I have no issue with what I received. What it had was a Camaro trim bezel. I assumed (my bad) that I could just swap the camaro bezel out with the one already in the car.

My question is, do the firebird bezel and the camaro bezel have the same "socket" on the back (inside the door) that the cable/toggle assembly clip into? I was looking on eBay at the firebird bezel and I didn't see the socket on either of the ones listed.

Any help would be much appreciated before I start taking stuff apart. I hate to do the same thing twice because I didn't know what I needed before I started.

 

I'm sure they're identical on Firebirds and Camaros. The "joystick" is held in the rectangular bezel by a simple metal clip.
