92 z28 auto shifter plate removal

92 z28 auto shifter plate removal

Whats the easiest way to remove this plate without breaking anything?

Take the **** off the shifter. I'm not sure how the leather **** come off, someone will chime in.

On the front of the shifter, toward the bottom. you'll see a metal pin, take a small screwdriver and pull it out. Once it's out, the shifter **** will come right off.

Once you have it off, you can pull the plate right off.

Yep, the little clip is the keeper.

Hey cdoyle, great kick panel tutorial. I did essentially the same think but used the MFD board for the entire front and fiberglass covered wire mesh to encapsulate the sides/back and covered it all in carpet. Mine look pretty good but yours seem almost injection molded. Very nice.

Thanks! Ya those were fun building, and I really like how I was able to get them to almost look like they were OEM.
