Console lid detached from console arm
I was wondering why I couldn't get my console to open and after I finally forced it open, discovered that the rivets coming from the top of the arm going into the lid have worked themselves loose after 26 years. Do I need some kind of epoxy to glue them back in or is Gorilla Glue just as good?
Thanks!

Re: Console lid detached from console arm
A steel piece on the other side of the lid, opposite the arm will hold (new) rivets inplace better than expoxy/glue, tried that too.
Just drill two matching holes for the rivets & make the piece no smaller than the flat part of the arm. This method great for me.Plus a steel rod to reinforce the lid from flexing if my arm pushes down on the lid.
Hopefully your plastic lid isn't too badly broken.
